Let's Talk
Life is short and thus the time we have should be used wisely. No reason to beat around the bush or pull punches. If you are going to shot, SHOOT STRAIGHT!
"Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time (redeem), because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is." Ephesians 5:15-17
Why Straight Talk?
For as long as I can remember I have been told I had a straight face that rarely showed emotion especially jolly. I always looked so serious is what I was told. To me it did not seem that way and I didn't always feel so serious yet when I was called to share the Word of the Lord I did take that seriously and then to read in James where it says that those of us who teach will have a different kind of judgement caused me to have both fear and trembling. I never have wanted to mishandle the Word or God nor water it down so it sounded good or reached those itching ears that Paul talked about in his letter to Timothy.
Contrary to what one might think when they hear Straight Talk, it's more about listening and looking to gain understand long before we start running our mouth. Nor is it a ministry where we believe we have it all together or got it 100% correct. Man falls down 7 times but by the grace of God we are able to get back up again and keep striving to shoot straight.
The art of listening and learning to ask the right questions is how I look to focus our ministry. Once the mind is engaged then there is pliable possibility for growth and maturity.
